PM to meet Bush next month

WASHINGTON, June 25: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is coming to Washington next month on his first visit to the United States as the head of the new government in Islamabad.

During his July 27-28 stay, the prime minister will have a working lunch with President George W. Bush at the Oval Office.

Besides President Bush, Mr Gilani is scheduled to meet Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Defence Secretary Robert Gates and other senior officials of the US administration.

The Pakistan Embassy is also trying to arrange his meetings with the Republican and Democratic candidates for the US presidential election.

The prime minister will also meet senior US lawmakers, particularly those from the Democratic Party.
