Two die in chemical spillage

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 25: Two cleaners burnt to death when their chemical loaded truck overturned on National Highway near Bhirya City area on Wednesday.

The Matiari-bound truck was coming from Sukkur when it overturned on the highway. Ali Gul Solangi and Moula Bux Shar were burnt to death when the chemical fell upon them. However, the truck driver, Mukhtiar Ali, miraculously escaped unhurt.

Both the bodies were shifted to the taluka hospital in Bhirya City for post-mortem from where they were transported to their native villages.

Naimatullah Khoso of Bhirya city police station told media that no FIR had been lodged but an accident report.

TRUCKERS LOOTED: Six armed men looted four truck drivers who were having tea at a restaurant on National Highway near Kandiaro on Wednesday.

The armed men came to the hotel of Shahid Ghangro on National Highway and looted cash and mobile phones from four truck drivers — Iqbal Ahmed, Irshad, Asif, Haroon Rasheed — and took away a CD player from the hotel.

The dacoits also beat up the drivers and locked them up in a hall where they were having tea.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
