Police raided a house in Model Town, Uggoki, where the captors were fleeing after receiving a Rs1.5 million ransom from kidnapped Sulman Pervaiz’s family. Police arrested Asif Ali Butt, Shams Ali and Hafiz Umer and seized the ransom besides rescuing the trader.

The DPO said the accused operated an inter-provincial gang of kidnappers and were wanted by Sialkot, Gujrat, Lahore and NWFP police for several kidnap for ransom, dacoity and robbery cases.
