KARACHI, June 19: The Group ‘D’ matches in the inaugural National Inter-club Women’s Football Championship 2008, after being moved ahead by a few weeks due to earlier schedule coinciding with the players’ examination timetable, are to commence here from today (Friday) with two encounters at two different venues – Colony Sports Stadium and the Aga Khan Gymkhana – in the morning and evening till June 28 with intermittent rest days.
The first match between Colony WFC and Karachi Dolphins takes place at the Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am and the second, to be played between Diya WFC and Karachi Kickers, kicks off at 5.30pm at the Aga Khan Gymkhana.
The Diya Women’s Football Club, Karachi Kickers, Colony Women’s Football Club, Karachi Dolphins and Sindh Soccerites are the five women’s soccer clubs of Karachi comprising Group ‘D’.
The team with the most wins will go on to play the other zone toppers, namely, Wapda (Group ‘A’ - Punjab), Vehari Young Rising Stars (Group ‘B’ - Sialkot) and Young Rising Stars (Group ‘C’ - Islamabad) in the next round to be played in Lahore in the second week of July.

Friday, June 20:
1st match: Colony Sports WFC vs Karachi Dolphins at the Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am.
2nd match: Diya Women’s Football Club vs Karachi Kickers at the Aga Khan Gymkhana at 5.30pm.
Sunday, June 22:
3rd match: Karachi Dolphins vs Karachi Kickers at Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am.
4th match: Sindh Soccerites vs Diya WFC at Colony Sports Stadium at 5.30pm.
Tuesday, June 24:
5th match: Colony WFC vs Sindh Soccerites at Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am.
6th match: Diya WFC vs Karachi Dolphins at Aga Khan Gymkhana
Thursday, June 26:
7th match: Sindh Soccerites vs Karachi Dolphins at Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am.
8th match: Colony WFC vs Diya WFC at Colony Sports Stadium at 5.30pm.
Saturday, June 28:
9th match: Karachi Kickers vs Sindh Soccerites at Colony Sports Stadium at 9.00am.
10th match: Colony WFC vs Karachi Dolphins at Colony Sports Stadium at 11.00am.
