Shuttlers shine in Nepal

ISLAMABAD, June 18: Pakistani shuttlers have won their first round of Nepal Badminton International Series 2008, moving to the second round.

In the men’s single event Atiq Chaudhry (Pakistan) defeated Siwakoti Rajan (Nepal) winning in straight sets, said a press release issued by the Pakistan Badminton Federation. Atiq won 21-8, 21-12.

Umer Zeeshan, also the captain of Pakistan badminton team and Pakistan’s No.1, walloped Sharma Jitentra (Nepal) 21-1, 21-5.

Ahsan Qamar (Pakistan) hammered Khadka Sahater (Nepal) 21-5, 21-11.

Wajid Ali Chudhry (Pakistan), the national champion, has beaten Thapa Surya (Nepal), 21-13, 21- 10.
