NAWABSHAH, June 15: A man and woman were killed on pretext of karo-kari in a village near Sakrand on Sunday.

Essan alias Dado Chandio and Sanobar, 18, daughter of Nooruddin Chandio were attacked with axes and later were shot dead by Sanobar’s paternal and maternal uncles, namely Kamaluddin and Mehboob Chandio, in village Haji Long Khan Chandio.

Their bodies were taken to Sakrand taluka hospital for the post-mortem. The Sakrand police have arrested the accused.

However, the case was not registered till the filing of this report.

Our Jacobabad correspondent reports: A woman was killed by her husband on Sunday in Mohammad Sharif Khoso village in the Thul area on pretext of karo-kari.

Samina, 18, was at home when her husband, Morzado, strangled her and fled from the place.

The deceased woman’s brother Moula Bux lodged an FIR against Morezado and another man, Badal, with the Thul police.
