FAISALABAD, June 14: The Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) has earmarked Rs81 million for installation of capacitors at five grid stations. This was said by Fesco chief executive Saeed Akhter while inaugurating a ceremony regarding capacitors energisation at the 132KV Chiniot industrial grid station.

He said upgradation work on five grid stations of 132KV-- Khurrianwala, Bhakkar, Jhang City, Muridwala and Chiniot City-- was under way and the government had been sponsoring the project.

He said installation work of capacitors would be completed by June 30, which would facilitate consumers with uninterrupted power supply and diminish voltage problems.

Mr Akhter lauded the efforts of the Chiniot grid station staff and announced cash prizes for them as they executed the task within the short span of time.

Speaking on the occasion, GSC directorate manager Sheikh Mohammad Ashraf said work on grid stations was under way to strengthen the Fesco capacity.

He said the project would also reduce transmission losses of the company and provide improved voltage facility to consumers.

He said the company would also save Rs15 million per month by installing capacitors at five grid stations.
