DADU, May 2: At least three criminals were arrested by Mehar police in a raid at Mehar-Khairpur Nathan Shah bypass near Mehar town on Thursday.

The raid was conducted on a tip off. The arrested have been identified as Gul Hassan Kharal, Ali Hassan Junejo and Nazeer Seehole.

Police claimed that they were wanted to loot the passengers at the route and waiting for them. Police seized one shotgun, one revolver, one axe and twelve cartridges from their possession.

KIDNAPPED: A married woman was kidnapped by 6 armed men from Sann town on Thursday some 120 kilometres away from here.

The armed men barged into the house of Mohammad Hassan Mallah and kidnapped the woman, Khatoon wife of Ghulam Rasool Mallah.

Chhachhar police have registered a case on the complaint of Hassan Mallah, brother of the woman, under section 116 of the ZHO, 34 of the PPC against six accused namely Momin, Sher Mallah, Mahyar, Naikoo, Shahmeer and Rustam Jalbani.

CRUSHED: A youth, Imdad Ali, son of Noor Muhammad Abro, 20, resident of Shahbaz colony, Dadu, was crushed to death under the wheels of Kotri bound Shahbaz express while crossing Dadu railway crossing new bus stand on Thursday.

INJURED: Twentyfive passengers were injured when a bus collided with a truck at Johi Branch bridge on Larkana-Dadu road on Wednesday.

The Larkana-bound bus (A-6295), carrying pilgrims returning from Bhit Shah collided with a truck loaded with chaff. As a result the bus overturned and fell into a ditch.
