LARKANA, May 2: Two married women took shelter at the women police station, Larkana, on Thursday.

Ms Bakhtawar, wife of Zamir Hussain Kartiyo, a resident of Naudero, who came to the police station along with her three-year-old son, Faraq, told that her husband, who was a drug addict, was forcing her for money, which she could not arrange to fulfil his drug requirement.

She said that as her husband always threatened to kill her, she approached the police station and wanted to be shifted to Darulaman. Ms Iqbal Khatoon, a resident of Aghani village, whose husband had died three years back, also appeared at the women police station along with her three children.

She alleged that her three brothers, Punhal, Baddar and Iqbal, were compelling her to marry with an old man, which she had refused.

She said that she feared to be killed by her brothers under the excuse of Karo-kari, as her refusal had annoyed them.

She also wanted to be shifted to the Darluaman.

The police said that both the women would be sent to the Darulaman after being produced in the court on Friday.

Meanwhile, Moula Bakhsh Khakhrani registered an FIR against Niaz, Madah, Sadah and Fida with the Ketti Mumtaz Police station on Thursday, alleging that they had kidnapped her daughter, Hamida.

BAIL GRANTED: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit bench, on Thursday granted bail to Ali Sonaro for a sum of Rs300,000 in Al-Murtaza firing case.

The division bench comprised Justice Wahid Bakhsh Barohi and Justice Syed Zawar Hussain Jaffery.

Ali Sonaro, who is presently confined at the Karachi central prison, was arrested in the case on Jan 5, 1994, and since then he has been behind the bars.

Advocate Nizamuddain Baloch pleaded the case of Ali Sonaro and said that the police had shown his arrest on June 19, 1999. He said that Sonaro had remained more than two years in the jail and added that it was a sufficient ground for granting him bail.

He said that the co-accused, Makhdoom Khaliquzzaman and Aftab, in the same case had been acquitted.
