GUJRANWALA, June 11: Members of the district bar association took out a motorcycle and car rally here on Wednesday to show solidarity with the protesting lawyers and deposed judges.

The rally, which was taken out from the premises of the district bar, marched through various roads of the city and culminated back at the district bar.

The participants were wearing black armbands, carrying black flags and raising slogans against President Pervez Musharraf.

On this occasion, bar president Malik Shaukat Ali asked people to participate in the long march that is aimed at getting deposed judges reinstated.

SIALKOT: Lawyers observed the ‘Youm-i-Iftikhar’ by taking out rallies on Wednesday to express solidarity with the deposed chief justice and condemn President Pervez Musharraf “for paralysing the country’s supreme judiciary”.

The lawyers held black flags, banners and placards, chanting the favourite one-liner “Go Musharraf go” and demanding reinstatement of Iftikhar Chaudhry.

According to Sialkot District Bar Association President Arshad Mahmood Baggu, the lawyers hoisted black flags atop buildings and wore black armbands. They also passed several condemnation resolutions.

He said the protest would continue till the ouster of Musharraf and restoration of the deposed chief justice and other judges.
