LAHORE, June 11: The low-grade employees of the Punjab Civil Secretariat on Wednesday rejected the 20 per cent increase in their salaries announced in the federal budget saying it was inadequate.
The inflation had increased by 100 per cent and it was galloping forward and as to how the government employees would handle it with the meagre 20 per cent increase in their salaries, said Civil Secretariat Staff Cars Drivers, Dispatch Riders and Mechanics Association president Ghulam Mustafa Butt and secretary-general Pervaiz Akhtar Awan.
They said the government had been increasing the salaries of parliamentarians and judges by 100 per cent and it should also do the same for government servants.—Staff Reporter
