Nasreen first woman chief of KPT

KARACHI, June 9: Ms Nasreen Haq on Monday took charge of the Karachi Port Trust to become the first chairwoman of the country’s premier port. The cabinet secretariat had issued a notification appointing her as the KPT chief with immediate effect, an official of the port told Dawn.

APP adds: Ms Haq is the first woman civil servant to lead the important organisation.

She replaces Admiral Ahmed Hayat who served in the capacity for eight years.

She has vast experience in road, rail and sea transportation.
