KASUR, June 7: Three brothers died when a speeding van hit a motorcycle on Ferozpur Road on Saturday.

Abid Hussain 17, Muhammad Asif, 14, and Hassan Abbas were on their way to Mustafabad from Lahore on a motorcycle. Near Mustafabad, a speeding van ran into their bike from behind. The three died on the spot.

PROTEST: About 150 villagers staged a demonstration before the Kasur DCO office, demanding the closure of a factory of an influential causing pollution.

Villagers from Rehmanpura said the factory was engaged in manufacturing ghee from animal fats. They said it was sealed twice in the past but its influential owners got it open each time.
