TOBA TEK SINGH, June 5: Dozens of powerloom and shoe factories' workers staged a demonstration on Thursday here for not restoring so far wedding grants of daughters of workers. Addressing the protesters, labour leader Aslam Wafa, Sheikh Qayyum and Muhammad Farooq said the grants had been suspended for the last two years and since then the labourers had been protesting. They said workers had hoped the new government would restore the grants but no progress was done. They added scholarships of labourer’s children were also not being paid. They warned if their demands were not met, workers would be forced to come on roads against the government.
