Probe into land embezzlement

Published June 4, 2008

KHANEWAL, June 3: The Board of Revenue (BoR) has launched a probe into alleged irregularities in state land’s allotment in this district on the directives of the Punjab government.

Revenue Executive District Officer (EDO) Abdul Rashid Razi said that a team led by Establishment Secretary Mahboob Alam had started investigations after taking relevant revenue records into its custody.

Razi said the records seized included documents relating to alleged bogus allotment of state-owned land and plots besides records lying in the colony branch.

The EDO said that any person having information about any bogus allotment of state land should contact his office immediately.
