LAHORE, May 1: Fancied chestnut gelding Crysler coasted home to a narrow win in the feature event of the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on May Day.

Crysler under a novice rider Azam Hussain took a flying start and led all the way to edge out another gelding Moment To  Moment (Shahid Mustafa up) on the finishing post by a short-head verdict in photo-finish. Bay mare Densee finished third seven lengths behind while chestnut filly Lado Rani completed the frame. All races were contested over the sprinting distance of 900 metres.

A  race  earlier, the supporting event was won by Fifty Six Fifty Six who beat Rambo’s Way by a head in photo-finish. Fancied Thank You Dear under ace rider Shahid Rehman finished third while Salman  Love  completed the board. In all eight ran for the event.

Except for the fourth race which was won by an odds-on filly New Valley the other five events were bagged by long  shots giving punters shock after shock.

The punters’ rout started right from the opener Sugar Dady opened his debut with a splendid win. He beat Candle Light by two-and-a-half lengths.

 Noor Bakht and Tulip finished third and fourth. Fancied Shoot To Kill was slow at the start and finished among also ran.

The three to one chance chestnut mare Strong Arm proved too strong, to win the second race to her liking defeating half-money favourite Yarrow Braw by five-and-a-half lengths.

Grey Matter backed at four to one obliged her connections in the third race. Fancied bay filly Silver Baby finished off the frame.
