Killers get death

BAHAWALNAGAR, May 1: An additional district and sessions judge sentenced 13 people in Dhudhi Tribe murder case.

Ghulam Nabi was handed down death sentence with Rs50,000 fine, Ghulam Majeed and Ilyas seven years’ rigorous imprisonment each, Ghulam Farid, Muhammad Husain, Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Husain s/o Jalal four years hard jail each, Manzoor and Khan Muhammad two years, and Ghulam Mustafa, Shah Ali and Zulfiqar one year rigorous imprisonment each.

The convicts had killed Khalid Shaheen and injured nine others of the Korianwali village over the issue of water share.

MURDER: A taxi driver was killed by unidentified people who drove away with his cab on Monday night.

Muhammad Shafiq of Dahranwala was visiting his sister in Dahranwala hospital when a man came to him and asked him to take him and his accomplice to Chishtian as there was no transport available due to referendum.

His was body found with a bullet mark in his head from Chak 44-Fateh next morning. The cab bearing registration number BR-927 was missing.
