Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, May 31: Berthing activity at the wharves on Saturday was maintained on the higher side where seven ships were berthed as port agencies tried to clear the inward rush of foreign flag vessels, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, three containers vessels are due to arrive at the port on Sunday, it said.

Harmony, Lucky Arrow, Lucky Man and Gape Ann to unload and load containers, Chemstar Princess to offload tallow and Blue Diamond to load naphtha were accommodated berths.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, Theeresa Pegasus, Tigri, Far Singapore, Harmony, Chemstar Princess, Hyundai Duke and Khairpur departed, while Calvin P. Titus, Sun Rose, Bengal Orchid, Lucky Man, Conti Express, Hadrian, Jakarta Express and Lucky Arrow are due to sail out on Sunday.

A total tonnage of 133,000 tons comprising 16,126 tons of export cargo and 116,000 tons of import tonnage was handled on Saturday.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Wan Hai-311, Mare Threcium and Global Progress with containers.
