BAHAWALPUR, May 30: District Police Officer Azhar Hameed Khokhar has denied that police are siding with the accused and that innocent people have been arrested in connection with the murder of nine members of a family from Hasilpur tehsil’s Luddan Riasti village.

Talking to the media informally here on Friday, Khokhar briefed reporters about the circumstances leading to the killing of the nine people and claimed that the accused had been arrested after a thorough investigation into the incident.

He said the victims had been drugged before they were shot dead. He said the police had seized blood-stained clothes, which the accused were wearing during the criminal act. — Correspondent
