KARACHI, May 30: Five ships carrying containers and to load clinkers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where six ships, Far Singapore and Calvin P. Titus to unload and load containers, Magway to unload general cargo and Bengal Orchid, Sun Rose and Theresa Pegasus, all tankers, were berthed.

Sailing was also active as nine ships, APl Cairo, Global Prosperity, Kota Permata, Ocean Friend, Nipaya, Johar, R.M. Power, Pangagia-1 and Hyun Jin Ks-1 departed, while Far Singapore, Langford, Calvin P. Titus, Tigris and Sun Rose are due sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 114,000 tons comprising 35,461 tons of export cargo and 78,406 tons of import tonnage was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Hansa Stavanger, Orient Stride, Soon Fu with containers, Iran Bagheri and Noor-i-Madina to load 16,000 and 16,800 tons clinkers, respectively.
