LANDI KOTAL, May 28: Security forces foiled kidnapping attempt of a local businessman on Wednesday.

Khasadars arrested an alleged kidnapper after a brief exchange of fire. Officials said that a group of five alleged kidnappers abducted auto-parts dealer Javid Zazai from the Peshawar-Torkhum highway, near Jamrud bazaar, at gunpoint. He was on way to Torkhum from Peshawar in a taxi.

The alleged kidnappers, however, did not take along two of his relatives and the cabdriver, who immediately reported the matter to the Khasadar force.

The personnel chased them and arrested accused Sangrez Asad, who belongs to Chakwal but is residing in Jamrud.
