Swimmers, shooter named

LAHORE, May 27: Adil Baig and Kiran Khan will represent Pakistan in swimming competitions at the Olympics starting in Beijing, China, from Aug 8.

Siddique Umar is the only shooter who would represent the country.

The names of two athletes for the mega event will be finalised by June 15.

Pakistan is participating in the above three games on a wild-card entry as none of them could qualify on performance.

An official of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan said one male and one female athletes would be selected after their dope test report.

“We have to conduct dope test of the players on Friday and their reports will most probably be received by June 15,” he said.
