Dairy farms

RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 27: Kissan Day was observed here on Tuesday under the aegis of Pakistan Dairy Development Company (PDDC).

Speaking at a seminar here on Tuesday, Farm Production Manager Paul Collins stated that Pakistan Dairy Development Company was working to improve milk production according to international standards since 2005.

He said that dairy sector had grown over the years, adding, in Multan region alone, 115,000 dairy farms are in operation.

The company is also working to help farmers set up dairy farms, establish bio-gas plants, besides assisting them in getting loans without interest, he said.

“Dairy farm is a profitable business which can also create lots of employment opportunities,” he observed. PDDC Team Manager Mohammad Asim, farm owners and other speakers focussed on enhancing dairy production and introduction of latest technology.—APP
