MIRPURKHAS, May 26: The ‘National Mango and Summer Fruit Festival’ initially planned for three days has been extended for another two days up to June 10, said Secretary Festival Managing Committee and EDO Agriculture Yar Mohammad Khaskheli.

Talking to journalists on Monday he said arrangements have been completed for June 6-10 festival with 441 growers contacted and more being approached to partake in the festival.

Hall for mango exhibition is inside the premises of Sindh Horticulture Research Institute while arrangements have been made for stalls of other departments and the NGOs at Gama Staduim, he said.

Preparations are made to hold a Meena Bazaar at Gulistan-e-Baldia Lawn while bullock race will be included in sports competition, he said adding ambassadors of different countries and mango exporters have also been invited.

Provincial Minister for Agriculture Syed Ali Nawaz Shah will inaugurate the newly constructed mango exhibition hall and festival on June 6, while Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be chief guest at prize distribution ceremony scheduled on last day, he said.
