Seven arrested

ISLAMABAD, May 25: The Crime Investigation Agency has arrested seven persons including an Afghan national wanted in several cases of robberies, theft and drug peddling and recovered stolen valuables including gold ornaments.

A spokesman for the police on Sunday said CIA arrested a resident of Bagram, Afghanistan, who was wanted to Shahzad Town and Bharakau police in separate cases of robberies reported on May 4, 2007 and February 20, 2008.

The agency also recovered looted valuables worth Rs100,000 from his possession.

The police also arrested three accused for their alleged involvement in robberies and recovered 15 tola gold looted at gunpoint from a house at street 52, sector F-11/3 on April 10.

Similarly, three persons were also arrested during patrolling and the police claimed to have recovered 1,320 grams of charas from their possession.

Three cases - two with the Shahzad Town police and one with the Golra police - have been registered against the accused.
