KARACHI, May 25: Chairman of the Sindh National Front Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has criticized the constitutional package offered by the Pakistan People’s Party to drag the country out of the political crisis, saying that the PPP had created a new crisis by introducing the package.

“Introduction of the constitutional package is actually aimed at diverting people’s attention from the pressing issues at being faced by public at the moment,” he alleged, claiming that the PPP was not capable of tackling these issues.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Sardar Bhutto argued: “It is surprising to note that Asif Zardari has termed President Musharraf a remnant of the past… why didn’t he use these words while striking a deal with President Musharraf for the indemnity by virtue of which he (Zardari) has been acquitted in many cases?”

Sardar Bhutto said the PPP had failed to remove the nazims and taluka nazims belonging to the PML-Q in Larkana district despite having used state machinery and jeopardizing the uplift works there.—PPI
