MUMBAI, May 22: The Indian squad for the Bangladesh tri-series as well as the Asia Cup in Pakistan, both scheduled in June, will be picked on May 30, the BCCI said on Thursday.

”The team for Bangladesh as well as the Asia Cup will be selected in Mumbai on May 30. It’s up to the selectors on how many touring squad members should be chosen,” BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said from his hometown Rajkot.

Shah said that the probables for the ICC Champions Trophy in September, with June 11 being the deadline, would be declared later. India will clash with arch-rivals Pakistan and hosts Bangladesh in the four-match triangular series from June 8-14.

The three sub-continental countries will then play in the June 24-July 6 Asia Cup to be held among six nations in Pakistan.

India are pooled in Group B with Pakistan and Hong Kong in the One-day tournament - their group matches scheduled on June 25 and 26 against Hong Kong and Pakistan respectively.

Group A consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates.

A full tour of Sri Lanka awaits the Indian team from mid-July to end-August after the conclusion of the continental championship.

Meanwhile, Central Zone selector Sanjay Jagdale said no final decision has been take on whether players’ IPL performance should also be taken into consideration while picking the squad. “We have not decided that yet. Things would be clear when we meet in Mumbai,” Jagdale said from Indore.—Agencies
