LAHORE, May 22: The LPG Distributors Association has called upon the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to fix the liquefied petroleum gas producer price at Rs25,000 per metric ton.
Voicing the demand in a statement issued here on Thursday, association chairman Irfan Khokhar said the government should constitute district price control committees to check unjustified increases in retail price.
He said marketing companies had destabilised the retail market by frequently increasing retail prices without any justification.
Retail prices have been increased by Rs8 per kg during the past 20 days alone as a result of which the domestic cylinder filling cost has increased by Rs75 and commercial cylinder by Rs300.
Consumers are facing problems due to frequent increase in prices by the marketing companies only for increasing their profits.
