LAHORE, May 21: Warid’s total investment in Pakistan would reach $1.5 billion by the end of the year, and it would further increase by $1 billion by the end of 2009.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Warid Telecom’s CEO Marwan Zawaydeh said the company would expand its network to every nook and corner of the country by the end of 2009. During the last three years, the company achieved its targets, and there were plans to increase Warid sites to more than 5,000 by the end of the year, connecting remote areas as well. Marwan Zawaydeh also unveiled a new logo of the company.

Warid Telecom’s Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Yeo also spoke.
