PESHAWAR, May 19: Following successful negotiations with officials of the Punjab food department to left the ban on flour movement to the NWFP, flour dealers in the Frontier province have withdrawn the call for a shutter-down strike for Tuesday.

A source said a delegation of flour dealers, led by Wholesale Food Grain Association chairman Farukh Sair, had met the Punjab food director at his office and apprised him of their grievances. He said the food director had allowed 83 dealers to supply flour from Punjab to the Frontier province.

He said the 83 dealers would supply 277 metric ton flour from the Sargoda district alone and the Inaam and Company would supply 54 metric ton flour to the NWFP.

The dealers hoped that the lifting of the ban would help overcome the crisis in the province.
