NAWABSHAH, April 30: The district president of the Pakistan People’s Party, Ghulam Qadir Chandio, has said that the people of Nawabshah have rejected the referendum by remaining indoors.

He was talking to Dawn here on Tuesday.

He said that the district administration was used for casting fake votes and added that police forcibly took the citizens to get votes cast.

He said that the National Highway was blocked at Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed and Doulatpur, vehicles were stopped and passengers were forced to cast vote.

He further said that police took out ladies and children from their houses in union council, Gohram Mari, misbehaved with them and forced them to cast vote.

He added that polling stations of the districts gave a deserted look.
