KARACHI, May 18: Billed as an attempt to scout up-and-coming players, the main round of the Rs300,000 Roshan Khan Junior Open squash championship gets into action at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan squash complex on Monday.

Commander Karachi, Rear Admiral Bakhtiar Mohsin, will grace the occasion and formally inaugurate the main round at a ceremony at 3.00pm. All the outstation players who have got direct entry into the main round have arrived in the city. The youngsters have been provided accommodation at the Fleet Club mess, which is located adjacent to the venue.

Meanwhile, the two-day boys qualifying round were completed on Sunday. Four players in each category have qualified for the main round. Each event will have a draw of 16–12 direct entries and four qualifiers.

Those who have qualified in U-19 are Fahad Karkar, Asif Khan, Farhan Zaman and Owais Rahim.

The qualifiers in U-17 are Hamza Bokhari, Waqas Gul, Naqash Shahid and Abbas Ali.

The top four in U-15 are Shah Jehan, Bilal Khan, Arbash Usama and Fazal Mehmood.

The top four in U-13 are M. Arif, Farhan Ahmed, Shoaib Safdar and Hussain Ali.

The four prodigies who have qualified in U-11 are Abbas Zaib, Shan Khan, Bilal Khan and Hayyan Saquib.
