PARIS, April 30: Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF) has condemned the conviction of an Iranian journalist, Ahmad Zeid-Abadi, for 23 months.
“The conservatives who control the Iranian judiciary are taking advantage of the UN Human Rights Commission’s recent failure to condemn Iran to resume their attacks on journalists and the media,” said RSF secretary-general Robert Menard.
The Iranian court ruled that Abadi had taken “provocative positions that threatened national security.”
