LAHORE, May 16: The Ichhra station house officer was arrested for taking bribe here on Friday.

A police spokesman said an inquiry was initiated against SHO Saleemullah Khan on a complaint that he had taken handsome money in a case. He said the SHO was arrested when he was found guilty of the bribery charge.

He was sent behind bars in the Ichhra police station.

Meanwhile, Shahdara police on Friday claimed to have arrested three robbers and recovered cash, valuables and illegal weapons from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as ringleader Shahzad alias Usman, Afzal and Tanvir Ahmad.

The arrested accused confessed to have committed nine robberies in different parts of the city.
