LAHORE, May 14: The CIA’s City Division claimed on Wednesday to have arrested three terror suspects allegedly belonging to a banned outfit and having links with the proclaimed offender (PO) involved in suicide blast at GPO Chowk on The Mall early this year.

According to a handout, the CIA police received a tip-off that three members of Jamiatul Mujahideen were present near Australia Mosque in front of the city’s main railway station.

A team constituted by the area DSP raided the place and arrested Sabir Ali, alias Saifullah, Muhammad Ali, alias Talha, and Nasrullah and recovered important documents, pamphlets, cell phones and cash from their possession.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that they had received military training and had been involved in terrorism activities.

The accused had a link with PO Imran, alias Mota, who allegedly planned suicide attack at GPO Chowk.

A case had been registered against them with Naulakha police station for possessing hate-mongering literature.
