GUJRANWALA, May 14: A huge quantity of flour dumped at different police stations after being seized from smugglers is likely to go waste, it is learnt

Reports said joint raiding teams of the food department and police had impounded 14 trucks and recovered hundreds of flour bags which were being smuggled to tribal areas about a week ago on GT Road.

Neither the police nor the food department is taking any interest in disposing of the dumped flour which may become inconsumable if it is left exposed to harsh weather conditions.

The food department officials said the flour would shortly be disposed of after getting permission from the court.

WARNING: The Gepco warned owners of filling stations, marriage halls and advertising companies that their connections would be severed if they did not shy away from unnecessary illuminations.

Gepco Chief Executive Officer Rana Muhammad Ashraf issued this warning at a meeting here on Wednesday. He also urged the consumers to cooperate with the Gepco by judicious use of electricity.
