KARACHI, May 14: Police have started setting up pickets on high-rise buildings in sensitive localities of Lyari as part of a new strategy to bring an end to the long-drawn gang warfare and rid the areas of outlaws.

Police on Wednesday took control of the two multi-storey buildings over which two rival gangs had been fighting.

A police officer said that police moved on Tannery Road and occupied a four-storey building after a little resistance from gangsters and set up their picket on its rooftop. Another picket was set up in an abandoned high-rise located on Shah Abdul Latif Road.
