LARKANA, May 12: Former district nazim of Nawabshah, Ms Faryal Talpur, filed her nomination papers for NA-207 (Larkana-IV) in Ratodero on Monday.

She was brought to the office of the returning officer Jan Mohammed Kalhoro in a big procession. She filed two papers for the same seat. Nusrat Soomro and Ayub Channa were her proposer and seconder.

The elections to this seat were postponed after the assassination of Ms Benazir Bhutto.

So far 10 candidates have filed nomination papers from this constituency, election commission sources said. They include: Asif Ali Jalbani (PML-N), Rhmatullah Abro (Sachal Alliance), Tarique Hussain Soomro (JUI), Ubaidullah Lolai (MQM), Mumtaz Ali Gopang (PPP-SB), Rafiq Ahmed Jalbani, Sultan Ahmed Khuhawar, Tariq Sattar Bhatti and Anwar Bhutto of (PPP) as the covering candidate of Ms Faryal.

According to election schedule, the last date for filing nomination papers is fixed as May 13.

It was learnt that Sindh National Front and PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) were considering to field a joint candidate on the seat. However, the probability of all anti-PPP political forces joining hands against Ms Faryal could not be ruled out, sources said.
