MUZAFFARGARH, May 10: Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) head Mazhar Ali Khan has completed an inquiry into the alleged irregularities of former EDOs and DCO.

Acting district nazim Malik Allah Dad Khar had filed a complaint against ex-DCO Dr Akhtar Nazir Warraich, former EDO (education) Sultan Bhagaila, ex-EDO (works and services) Arshad Chughtai and tehsil municipal officer Farid Khirani.

Talking to this correspondent, Allah Dad Khar said these offocials had embezzled millions of rupees.

Khar said when the then chief minister Pervaiz Elahi had visited the district in Oct last year, ex-DCO Nazir Warraich drew Rs9 million for arrangements. He alleged that Mr Warraich had also drawn Rs3 million for the rehabilitation of the DCO house.

Khar said the Tandlianwali sugar mills management had built Tandlal Road but Mr Warraich drew Rs30 million for its construction. He said former EDO (education) Sultan Bhagaila drew Rs8 million from the department but he did not buy any school furniture.

Khar said the ex-DCO had given freehand to the former EDO (works and services) who awarded bogus contracts but no work was done anywhere.

The CMIT head recorded statements of accused official at a rest house. When contacted, none of the accused official was available for comments.
