Directive to end train delays

Published May 10, 2008

LAHORE, May 9: Railways Board Chairman Muhammad Kashif Murtaza says all possible efforts will be made for improving the operational efficiency of the railways.

Speaking at a meeting of divisional superintendents here on Friday, he said that management problems were the main hurdle in the improvement of operational efficiency. He took a serious view of delay in operations of trains in Lahore division and ordered removal of all restrictions on the operation of trains on tracks to eliminate delays. Magistrates should also be appointed on divisional basis for removing encroachments on railway lands to facilitate improvement in operation of trains.
