SUKKUR, May 6: The Hyderabad Electricity Supply Company on Tuesday issued notices to the government departments warning them to clear Rs1760.58 million dues within a week or risk getting supply of power disconnected.

Hesco officials confirmed the company’s revenue officers in Sukkur, Rohri, Ghotki, Khairpur and Ranipur had issued the notices on the directives of Managing Director Munawar Baseer and Chief Executive Officer Chaudhry Guftar Anjum.

Hadi Dino Shaikh, a Hesco revenue official, said that notices had been issued to the offices of the DCO, the DPO, executive engineer of barrage division, taluka municipal administration, Irrigation Department, Education Department and others, who came under the operation division of Sukkur Hesco for the recovery of Rs597.50 million arrears.

The heads of the departments had been asked through the notices to clear outstanding arrears within a week or face disconnection of power supply, he said.

He said that teams had also been formed to recover Rs212.66 million dues from private defaulters and they had been directed to remove the PVC and meters in case the consumers fail to make payment.
