SIALKOT, May 2: Dozens of Shabab-i-Milli activists on Friday demonstrated outside the district nazim office to protest the death of a minor child due to the absence of doctors at the newly-established trauma centre here.

Holding banners and placards, the protesters shouted slogans against the trauma centre management and demanded action against the negligent doctors.

Shabab activists told reporters that Salman Hyder, 12, was brought to the trauma centre in a critical condition after he had mistakenly taken kerosene oil during loadshedding on Wednesday night. They alleged that the boy died because no doctor was available at the centre to treat him.

Meanwhile, District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema ordered a probe into the incident and deputed EDO (Health) Dr Arshad Dar as an inquiry officer.
