KARACHI: Food forum launched

Published May 3, 2008

KARACHI, May 2: The “Pakistan Food Forum” was launched to bring professionals in the food industry together so that they could share their expertise to bring improvement in the quality of food products and services.

PFF president Rafiq Rangoonwala told a press conference that the need for the establishment of a food forum was being felt for long.

The forum, he said, would also help business concerns and professions explore new avenues for mutual benefits, besides facilitating exporters of food items through information on demand in the international market and support in materialising their ventures.

PFF general secretary Usman Qasim stated that the forum would organise seminars and training workshops to produce skilled and trained personnel in the field. It would also help the personnel and professionals in getting jobs abroad, he added.

The forum’s vice-president Farrukh Mazhar and treasurer Rashid Siddiqui also spoke.
