BAHAWALPUR, May 1: Chief Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa has ordered the regional police officer and the Bahawalpur district police officer to recover a college girl of Samasatta within seven days, arrest her captor(s) and submit a report within the stipulated period.

The orders were issued when the father of the girl met the chief minister at the residence of MPA Zulfiqar Ali here on Thursday.

The victim’s father told Mr Khosa that his daughter was kidnapped three days ago and despite registration of a case, police were not arresting the nominated accused.

Later addressing the government officials, the chief minister asked them to mend their attitude towards the public and take interest in welfare work.

He also asked the MPs present in the meeting to avoid unnecessary interference in the working of government departments. He asked the officials to consult the elected representatives on uplift projects.

The chief minister directed the food department staff to gear up wheat procurement campaign and ensure that there was no shortage of gunny bags.

There were also reports that Khosa went to Dera Nawab Sahib to meet Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi.
