LARKANA, May 1: The Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro assured on Thursday that he would take up with education minister the issue of the candidates who had passed a test conducted by the Institute of Business Administration for the posts of high school teachers, junior school teachers and primary school teachers.
Mr Khuhro assured a group of candidates who has passed the test that the Pakistan People’s Party government understood their worries and would definitely see to it “what the ground realities are and how the candidates can be absorbed.”
He said that the concerned quarters were busy studying vacancy of seats with particular reference to illegal appointments made during caretaker government. The people appointed in contravention of rules and regulations would be shown the door, he said.
“We are not here to render anyone jobless but for the sake of eligible candidates appointments those who have been appointed in violation of rules will have to go,” he said.
Earlier, a large number of successful candidates belonging to Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts staged a procession. They marched on the main thoroughfares of the city before reaching the press club. They said that 700 candidates had passed the IBA test for HST, JST and PST jobs.
MODEL DISTRICT: Larkana would be turned into a model district by improving its infrastructure, bringing about socio-economic development and adopting pro-poor policies to make visible changes in the lives of the down trodden people, said DCO Abdul Aziz Uqaili on Thursday.
Talking to journalists, the official said that the historical buildings including Collector’s Building and Tajar Building would be renovated and green belts and parks would be developed in the city to make it more beautiful.
He said that a complaint centre on the pattern of 15 of police would be established with its offices at the secretariat of district coordination officer to receive people’s complaints and suggestions.
The construction work on the retaining wall along both the sides of the Rice Canal from New Bus Terminal to CMC Bridge was in full swing and it would soon be completed, he said.
He said that the water supply and drainage system would be improved and cleanliness would be ensured, and advised district officers to adopt pro-public attitude.
He said that the closed primary schools in the district would be reopened and action would be taken against the ghost primary teachers. The proposed housing colony for the poor consisting of 5,000 houses would be established soon and the revenue department was busy acquiring land for the colony, he said.
