RAWALPINDI, May 1: Federal Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Ghulam Ahmed Bilour on Thursday accused the intelligence agencies of trying to split the political forces on different issues in order to destabilise democracy in the country.

“Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) will iron out the differences on issues within the coalition very soon,” he stated this while speaking at a function held in connection with the International Labour Day here at Jinnah Hall of the Rawal Town Municipal Administration (TMA) offices. The function was organised by People’s Labour Bureau and it was largely attended by the workers and union leaders from local government departments, and government and semi-government institutions.

All Pakistan Local Government Workers Federation (APLGWF) Rawalpindi chapter president Raja Abdul Qayyum, secretary general Pervaiz Cheeda, Qazi Sultan Mehmood, Rasheed Mir, Nasir Mir and others also addressed the gathering.

The minister said the coalition partners in the government were trying to solve the issues amicably but it did not suit the intelligence agencies that were fanning the judges’ issue to destabilise the government. He said the alliance of PPP, PML-N, ANP and other parties was committed to deliver and provide each and every right to the masses enshrined in the constitution. He said the government was striving hard for the supremacy of the parliament and the constitution in the country. The minister said the coalition government would complete its five-year tenure and reinstate the deposed judges, including deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.—Our Reporter
