GHALANAI, May 1: Taliban on Thursday abducted two alleged criminals and burnt houses of two others in different areas of Mohmand tribal region.

Sources said that local Taliban picked two alleged kidnappers, Mohammad Qadeem and Iran Khan, from Michni Bangalo area and shifted them to some undisclosed location. Taliban said those persons were involved in anti-social activities despite a warning given by them earlier to all the criminals in the area to abandon such practices.

Ekka Ghund political tehsildar Arshid Khan confirmed to Dawn that the incident had taken place. He added that the two abducted persons were stated to be involved in robberies, kidnapping and car lifting.

In another incident, Taliban set ablaze the houses of Nisar and Zahir Shah who they claimed were criminals. The burnt houses were later on demolished.

Recently, Taliban have expedited their activities against alleged criminals in Mohmand Agency. Few days ago some of the alleged criminals were killed in clashes with Taliban and one of the members of the said gang was publicly executed.
