Farhan lifts trophy

PESHAWAR, April 30: Second seed Farhan Mehboob won the NWFP All-Pakistan Senior squash tournament by defeating Safeerullah in the final in straight sets at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex here on Wednesday.

Farhan exhibited classic display of long rallies and attacking approach against his rival to win with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.

“My backhand and some of the nick shots worked nicely,” the winner comment.

Earlier, in the semi-finals, Safeerullah beat Mansoor Zaman 10-11, 11-7, 11-7. The latter retired hurt due to illness.

Farhan Mehboob overcame Arshad Iqbal Burki 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 4-11, 11-9 in a thrilling encounter.—APP
