HYDERABAD, April 26: The Pakistan Heritage Preservation and Promotion Society has expressed concern over the disappearance of precious archives from Shamsul Ulema Daudpota Library.

In a joint statement issued here the office-bearers of the society alleged that newspapers and periodicals dating back to post-partition era and early 20th Century had been sold off to junk dealer.

They claimed that the library was under an academic and administrative crisis.

“In the absence of technical staff it is feared that the remainder of the collection could also meet the same fate at the hands of those who have been installed as its custodians,” the statement read.—Bureau
