TOBA TEK SINGH, April 22: A dog theft case has forced political figures of the area to intervene for reconciliation between two groups in Chak 395-JB, Sada Arayan.

Reports said one Sarfraz lodged a complaint with Saddar police that his pedigreed dog worth Rs0.2 million was stolen by five people, including Khan Muhammad a few days back.

The police after registration of a theft case arrested the accused recovering the dog.

On Tuesday, the situation took an interesting turn when the accused party approached District Nazim Chaudhry Abdul Sattar and claimed that the dog actually belonged to them and not Sarfraz.

The nazim formed a two-member committee consisting of two union council nazims Mian Tanweer Anwar and Chaudhry Saeed Akbar to resolve the dispute.

Sarfraz, who still claims ownership of the dog, told this scribe that he had a buffalo especially to feed its milk to the pet.

A large number of people daily visit the village to see the costly disputed dog.

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
